⬇️The Podcast⬇️

When was the last time you did something creative When was the last time you did something creative just because it brought you joy?

If you’re like many busy moms, the answer might be… you honestly can’t remember.

Between work deadlines, family responsibilities, carpools, meal planning, and keeping everyone else’s lives running smoothly, creativity often gets pushed to the bottom of the priority list. But what if making time to create wasn’t something extra to squeeze into your schedule? What if it was actually one of the best ways to reduce stress, prevent burnout, and reconnect with yourself?

In this episode of The Secrets of Supermom Show, I sat down with intuitive artist Heather Eck for a fascinating conversation about creativity, healing, intuition, and why even a few minutes of creative expression can make a huge difference in your mental and emotional well-being.

Have you ever looked around at your life and thoug Have you ever looked around at your life and thought, “I should be happy… so why doesn’t this feel right anymore?”

It’s a thought many women experience but rarely talk about openly.

You’ve built the career. You’ve raised the kids. You’ve managed the schedules, handled the responsibilities, and checked all the boxes that were supposed to lead to fulfillment.

From the outside, everything may look fine.

But inside?

Something feels different.

If you’ve been questioning your career, your priorities, your relationships, or even your identity, you’re not alone. And according to midlife coach Laura Custo, you’re not broken either.

You’re changing.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I don’t believe life happens in neat little compartments. Work, family, life—they’re all beautifully intertwined. I answer emails at baseball practice, get podcast ideas on walks, and yes… I often work a little even when we’re on vacation.

That’s the season of life I’m in, and honestly, it usually works really well for me.

But this time was different.

I knew I didn’t just need a change of scenery—I needed to completely step away. No creating. No planning. No checking in. Just being present with my favorite people, listening to the waves, laughing, slowing down, and remembering that rest isn’t something you earn after you’ve done enough.

It’s something you need so you can keep showing up for what matters most.

Now I’m back, feeling more energized, more creative, and more excited than ever.

If you’ve been running on empty, consider this your reminder: the work will still be there. The laundry will still be there. Your inbox will still be there.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your family, your work, and yourself is to step away long enough to come back fully present.

And I have to say… San Diego was pretty good medicine. 🌊🤍
