Show Notes: Back to School Made Easy | Reassess, Recalibrate & Raise Your Energy
Welcome to Episode #252 of The Secrets of Supermom Show!
â What Youâll Learn in This Episode
- Why âweâre so busyâ often means âweâre totally overwhelmedâ
- How to tell if your current schedule is serving the whole family (including you)
- The weekly reflection process Lori uses inside The Supermom Society
- Questions to ask yourself to spot what’s workingâand what absolutely isnât
- Real examples of routines that needed to be reworked (like that dreaded after-school crash)
- How to give yourself permission to pivot, reset, and try again
đ Why Reflection Is the Missing Piece
You might have nailed your morning routine (đ Episode 250!) and streamlined your family schedule (đ Episode 251!)⌠but if you donât pause to assess whatâs actually working, youâll stay stuck in a loop of go-go-go without really knowing if itâs right.
Lori shares that in The Supermom Society, this kind of reflection happens every single weekâbecause what works in Week 2 of school may not work in Week 5.
âWeâre so good at figuring out how to get it all done… but we rarely stop to ask, âDo I even want to do this?ââ
đ Questions to Ask Yourself Right Now
Whether you’re driving, walking, or folding laundry, Lori invites you to reflect on the following:
- Are we getting out the door without yelling or chaos?
- Is bedtime a consistent routine or total chaos?
- Do we have something we love to do as a family each week?
- Do I end the week feeling energizedâor completely wiped out?
- Am I getting my needs met as a mom, or just managing everyone else?
If the answers arenât what you want them to beâitâs time to make a change.
â ď¸ Whatâs Not Working? (And Why Thatâs OK)
Sometimes, what used to work… just doesnât anymore.
Lori shares the story of how her familyâs after-school routine was crashing and burningâuntil they made a simple pivot: more movement and a snack before diving into homework.
âItâs not because you did anything wrong. Your family just needs something different right now.â
She also reminds us that every family is different, and what works for others might not work for youâand thatâs perfectly okay.
đ How to Recalibrate Without the Guilt
Feeling like itâs time to change something? Hereâs your plan:
- Spot the friction â Is it morning? After school? Bedtime?
- Get curious â Ask what would feel better, not whatâs âright.â
- Brainstorm options â Even if theyâre unconventional.
- Involve your family â Kids often have the best ideas!
- Try something new â And know that itâs okay if it flops.
- Keep reassessing â This is a living process, not a one-time fix.
âWe get to say, âI donât want to do it like this anymoreââand thatâs a beautiful thing.â
đ The Power of Weekly Reassessment
This isn’t just a one-time check-in. In The Supermom Society, members do this every single week with Loriâs guided Weekly Progress system.
It helps moms:
- Adjust without guilt
- Reflect on wins
- Course correct when things go sideways
- Keep energy high and burnout low

đĄ Your Takeaway: Youâre Allowed to Change Your Mind
Routines are meant to serve your familyânot trap you.
If you thought a 6pm dinner would work and it doesnât? Move it.
If you thought you could handle three sports and you canât? Drop one.
If youâre done being the âmartyr momâ? Itâs time to pivot.
You get to reset. You get to reassess. You get to build a life that works.
đ§ Your Next Steps
This week, take 5 minutes to reflect:
- What routine needs a reset?
- What would feel just a little better?
- Whatâs one small change youâll try next week?
Then, come share your changes and wins with Lori on Instagram @secretsofsupermom or inside The Supermom Society!
