Show Notes: How to Bend Time and Beat Burnout
Hey, hey friend! Welcome to Episode #260 of The Secrets of Supermom Show!
Ever feel like there’s just never enough time—no matter how early you wake up or how hard you work? This episode of The Secrets of Supermom Show dives into exactly that with guest Michelle Niemeyer, a former attorney turned health coach who teaches professionals how to “bend time” and become burnout-proof.
From Burnout to Breakthrough
Michelle spent 33 years as a lawyer, working in high-pressure environments that rewarded overcommitment and exhaustion. Like many ambitious professionals, she ignored the warning signs until a health crisis forced her to change everything.
Diagnosed with a rare autoimmune liver condition in 2015, Michelle began a journey of healing—physically, mentally, and emotionally. What she discovered became the foundation of her signature approach: The Art of Bending Time.
Through major lifestyle shifts—clean nutrition, movement, stress management, and boundary-setting—Michelle not only reversed her illness but learned how to reclaim her focus, energy, and joy. Today, she helps other high-achieving women do the same.
What Is the Art of Bending Time?
Michelle describes “bending time” as learning how to get more out of your hours—not by hustling harder, but by optimizing yourself.
It starts with a busyness detox, breaking the pattern of “I’m too busy” thinking that keeps so many women stuck. From there, she teaches practical strategies to:
- Boost energy and focus through small, daily health habits
- Build a support system or “team” that helps lighten your load
- Create clarity around what truly matters—and what doesn’t
- Set goals that actually belong to you, not old expectations or others’ agendas
When you align your priorities, health, and relationships, you gain the ability to do more of what matters and feel great doing it.
The Most Important Things
- Your body keeps score. Chronic stress and overwork can lead to serious health consequences—but it’s never too late to turn things around.
- Asking for help is a strength. Building a “team” (family, friends, coworkers, neighbors) benefits everyone.
- Clarity is everything. Knowing what lights you up makes burnout nearly impossible.
- Detox from busyness. Saying no to what drains you opens space for what fuels you.
Michelle’s One Small Step
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, Michelle’s advice is simple:
Take five minutes today to reflect on moments when you’ve felt most alive—laughing, proud, inspired. Ask yourself:
What was happening? Who was I with? What made it feel so good?
Identifying those sparks helps you intentionally bring more of them into your life and work.
